Visit one - Municipal services for individuals, families and children - Reykjavik Service Centre of Miðborg and Hlíðar - Community based service centre, Skúlagata 21 Integrated social advisory centres for families and individuals. There are six service centres in the city. They focus on providing families in the city with both comprehensive and targeted welfare services. Each service centre is a pioneer in a particular field of the services, Midborg and Hlidar is a pioneer in multicultural issues. - Leisure Centre Kringlumýri - Leisure centre for children and adolescents,Safamýri 28 Area based leisure services for children and adolescents, aged 6-16. There are 6 leisure centres in the city. Each leisure centre runs the leisure based services for children and adolescents in the area it serves, amongst other things recreation centres and after school centres. Visit two - Child protection - The Childrens House, Sólheimar 17 The Children’s House is a Center for Child Sexual Abuse. It is a child-friendly, interdisciplinary and multiagency centre whereby different professionals work under one roof in the investigation of child sexual abuse cases. It is a result of a partnership, among others between the State Police, the State Prosecution, the University Hospital and the Government Agency for Child Protection. The basic concept of the Children’s House is to prevent subjecting the child to repeated interviews by many agencies in different locations. - Government Agency for Child protection - Borgartún 21 The Government Agency for Child protection is in charge of day-to-day administration of child protection services. The Ministry of Welfare is the responsible for matters of child protection.The basic unit for child protection in Iceland is the child municipal child protection committee which is responsible for child protection services at the local level.
